I had never heard of tone policing or some of the other vocabulary until reading this book. The world is complicated and it would be nice if we didn’t have so many problems getting along and relating to each other. It’s sad, frustrating, heartbreaking and ridiculous that racism is so prevalent. I appreciate this book and how each term is identified, explained and then reviewed. White supremacy and other racist actions are addressed. Each topic is given an example, defined and discussed then the section ends with a recap and reflection. I like how the book is organized and I learned a great deal more about racism when I thought I understood it well already. Straightforward and non-judgmental, 5 stars!
Cakes, breads, cheesecakes, cookies, scones, pizzas and many other decadent eats from around the world fill this book beginning to end. Freheit!: The White Rose Graphic Novel by Andrea Grosso Ciponte Thanks to Plough Publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this graphic novel. Based on the actual White Rose group that spread leaflets against Nazi rule and actions during World War II. Several members were arrested and quite a few of them were executed by use of a guillotine. I didn’t realize that anyone in that era was executed by any means other than shooting. A highly impactful graphic novel that sums up the growth and activities of The White Rose and also includes the real writings on the original leaflets. Amazing strength, integrity and bravery sums up The White Rose members! A must for history buffs, 5 stars!
I received an advance reader copy of this book for volunteer review consideration and all opinions and thoughts are my own.

The chemistry of our emotions and hormones is explained easily and concisely to help readers understand how and why we feel the way we do, depending on the situation. Several meditation exercises are placed throughout this guide. One of my favorites is the happiness cloud. The book closes with the Happiness Plan which involves questions and exercises to help gear our minds to daily happiness. A fun guide to happiness!
