An interactive look at the supernatural!
Thanks to NetGalley, Wide Eyed Editions and Quarto Publishing for the opportunity to read and review Illuminightmare with illustrations by Carnovsky and written by Lucy Brownridge. Three lenses are included with the book, a red lens to view earthly history, a green lens to view places and the surroundings, and a blue lens to view ghostly, supernatural images. Each spotlighted place has its own section containing pages of overlapping colors and images and a list of what to look for through the lenses, descriptions of each item on the list gives tidbits of interesting information. Some places featured are the Winter Palace, Salem, Massachusetts, The Black Forest, the Giza Pyramids, and Picton in Australia. Magnificent and highly interactive to pique the interest of history and geography buffs of all ages! 5 stars for interactive fun!

You know with these authors, the cupcake creations will be nothing short of astounding! Cupcakes made as easy as possible, with cookies and other edible ingredients, turn out adorable and fun! The cherry blossom cupcakes set together beautifully to make a cherry blossom tree, ready to be disassembled by hungry cupcake eaters. Football players, droids, ballerinas and swans are just some of the decadently decorated cupcakes found within the pages of this book. These cleverly designed desserts are almost too cute or too pretty to eat! 5 stars!

Sewing Instructions for twelve costumes and templates are detailed and included, all costumes are made with felt. Felt is versatile, doesn’t need hemming and holds its shape well. These attributes make felt perfect for costume making. A tools and materials list starts off the book and helps get the costume maker prepared and ready to create. Tips are also included, such as using a razor to de-pill your felt. Colorful illustrations accompany each detailed pattern. Fun and inspiring for dress up play, 5 stars!

This is a wonderful book filled with twenty projects, ranging from easy to difficult and all geared towards science, technology, engineering, art and math. Fun and helpful illustrations bring this project book to life and the detailed instructions are perfect! I love the STEAM applications and notes following each project. A must-have book for anyone wanting a little creative entertainment in their lives- 5 stars!

Adorable and relaxing!
Thanks to NetGalley and Workman Publishing for the opportunity to read and review Life in the Sloth Lane by Lucy Cooke! The book is full of wonderful photographs of sloths, that look like they’re smiling, naturally interspersed with appropriate and meaningful quotes and sloth facts. One of my favorite quotes from the book, “Surrender to what is. Let go of what was. Have faith in what will be.” -Sonia Ricotti. Another quote I love- “The universe is full of magical things patiently waiting for our wits to grow sharper.” -Eden Phillpotts. Profound wisdom! I smiled through the entire reading of this book and I’m sure my heart rate slowed to relaxation mode- adorable and inspiring! 5 stars !
