I’m Done by Gurpreet Kaur is a Poetry book full of lightness and love alternating with darkness and cruelty. The poetry tells a story of love hoped for and the reality of that relationship falling short of that hope. Healing is a large message in this work and the healing inspires. 4 stars.
The prologue for Entwined Paths, by M. L. Greye, is intense and thrilling with Declan and Emry running for their lives. It turns out that Emry was having a dream. A dream that truly happened years before. The story jumps to five years ago and tells how Emry ended up as an emissary to Trezim’s kingdom. While in Heerth, she learns to speak their language and to defend herself. Declan is on guard duty and he’s just getting through his days. In the meantime, people are being taken from the borders and forced to fight for their lives. The kidnapped men and women are called the Stolen. Declan ends up being one of the Stolen. Declan and Emry continuously have dreams involving each other, unbeknownst to both of them. They fall in love through their dream interactions. As time passes, they both conquer much and when they finally meet again, it’s phenomenal! The ending is just the beginning for these two, 5 stars ⭐️!
Veiled By Desire by Candace Robinson, is the sequel to Clouded By Envy. This sequel happens much later in time than the first book of the Laith series. My heart went out to Tavarra because she believed in love, felt cheated and then her entire life was shattered by a horrible transformation.
Rhona is mistreated and my heart goes out to her and her friend Perin, also. I love when loyalty is strong between friends and when the bond cannot be broken. Tavarra meets Rhona and they work together to improve the lots they’ve been given. I enjoyed this sequel much more than the first and I think it’s because the characters were more relatable and the struggles seemed more harrowing, somehow. 4 stars!
Tragic story of how envy can take its toll.
I received a digital copy of Clouded by Envy by Candace Robinson, as an author request to voluntary read and review.
Clouded By Envy tells the story of Bat-like siblings, from the planet of Laith, adopted by a different animal after their mother abandoned them, are sent away to grow up and be independent. Bray has the power to change into human, size and all. Her brother Brenik is jealous of that and thinks he’s useless. His envy grows to the point of extreme anger and he decides he’s going to do whatever it takes to become human. He is turned into a human-looking creature, a vampire. Everything becomes too much for him to handle and he runs to Bray for help. Things become even more complicated and tragic and Branik does the only thing he believes will stop the chain of horrible events. 3 stars for this unique story of envy.
Love the cover!
Tabitha’s Death by Jordan Elizabeth. Author request. Tabitha feels like she’s lost everything and has nothing to live for. She slits her wrists after her best friend has died and her boyfriend uses her. She ends up in a sort of limbo, doing the bidding of the Gray Man. His tasks pile up and cause more torment and she begins to realize that she might never be freed from this. Tabitha meets several others who have ended their lives in different ways. They’re doing tasks for the Gray Man and other limbo creatures, trying to die and move on as they’ve been promised will happen when they’re finished with the creatures’ biddings. Tabitha was timid and submissive to everyone around her but she becomes a stronger person through her time in limbo. I enjoyed her character growth and was glad she was able to finally see her own worth. 4 stars!

I received a pdf of Keto Cookies by Ellen Branson per author request to read and review honestly.
Keto Cookies is a short, sweet cookbook of all things cookie! Less than 60 pages, packed full of sweet treats ideas that follow the Keto diet. Cookies become a little more difficult to make when following the Keto diet because some of the ingredients required are ingredients that I don’t normally have on hand, like almond flour or Stevia (an artificial sweetener). Each recipe has a photograph included and the most fun recipe in the entire book is chocolate bacon cookies! I also learned what Erythritol is, a sugar alcohol. Great recipes for everyone interested in the Keto menu, 5 stars!
Snow White’s Mirror by Shonna Slayton is another wonderful fairytale creation! Shonna Slayton perfects historical fiction. Now she’s combining historical fiction with fantasy to create fun and intelligent fairytale stories. Billie has traveled with her uncle to secure her inheritance after her father’s death due to heart failure. She believes that her uncle is keeping things from her as well as gambling away her father’s estate. They stop at a mining town and meet cousin Lou. She oversees a mine with beautiful turquoise veins running through and she does all of the work by herself. Uncle Dale tells Billie that he’s searching for a special mirror that will grant wishes. Billie wants to help her ailing mother, so she wants to find the mirror also. The character pool grows to include Winn, an interesting local young man; Matron, a kind but questionable local businesswoman and Fremont, a relative with dwarfism that has also been missing for a while. Billie discovers more about cousin Lou and stumbles upon an odd window that seems somewhat like a mirror inside Lou’s shack. Billie’s life grows much more complicated than she ever thought it could. I love this book and highly recommend it to fairytale and historical fiction readers, 5 stars!
